Nice friendly place. Jumped in off the street. Don't really like changing barbers but Michael gave me a great haircut. :)

Made an appointment based upon reviews here. They fulfilled my expectations. Christine gave me the best haircut I have had in a long time.

First rate place. Anne Marie cuts my hair as well as anyone ever has. The atmosphere is fun because everyone there is fun. Highly recommended and the price is right

This is one of those places that makes New York City the greatest city in the world. Joe Magnetico, the owner, is a true, classic, NY character. When he's not trimming, he sidelines as a talent manager for musicians from a bygone show biz era. He's a great raconteur, who has an encyclopedic mastery of show biz facts and trivia. This old fashioned place has moved into the modern era by having a selection of earnest, tattooed hipsters who take haircutting very seriously. They are all into rockabilly. If you go into the shop when Joe is there, you'll hear Sinatra on the satellite radio - if he's not there the shop transforms and its all 80s hits. I've got very little hair, so not much I can say about the actual haircut (they do a fine job) but whatever, put this place on your "must go to" list, whether you are a true New Yorker, or just on a visit.

9/23/2017 As soon as you walk in the door, you're in for a treat! I had the fortune this time of having Szilvia at the ready to transform my overgrown pate into a magazine cover ready haircut. I walked in on a weekday afternoon, and, without an appointment, was greeted by Szilvia(Think Sylvia, but with a Z, because, it's 2017!). After asking what I was looking for, she deftly set to task with speed, precision, and a vision. Pass after pass, clip after clip, she was meticulous-- almost more so than I can be on occasion-- and despite a bevy of distractions, from eclectic music to a customer to my left being most boisterous and disparaging to his barber, and truly imbued some magic in my 'dew and step.
Old Timey isn't just your Grand-pop's barber shop-- It's a jewel of midtown services that proves quality just can't be rushed or learned, it's in who you are
Their fades don't cost a million bucks, but that's what you'll feel like.
